In the course of almost twenty years I have seen and handled every type of hair.
The most common complaint I hear is: “I have fine limp hair.” This is not a problem. If you have enough hair for me to work with , I can make it appear thicker, fuller. Even if you come in with a head so thin as to appear balding. There are qualifications, however which vary from person to person. All are invited to make an appointment for a free consultation. Please do not make this appointment if you have less than 3 inches of hair on top of your head. It can be shorter elsewhere but if it is too short on top, I will send you away. It amazes me how women with two inches of hair keep going to different salons to get the same bad cut/style over and over.
Another common problem is frizzy and or curly or wavey hair. No cut can change the texture of your hair. If you come in with curly hair- you are going to leave with curly hair- though with a better shape and style. If you truly dislike the texture of your hair, I can refer you to an affordable stylist that does keratin treatments, which truly do make a difference. If this is your problem, then I advise you to seek out someone who does this at a reasonable price (this tends to be an expensive process and I do not do these treatments).
Not so common but still very much a problem many women wish they had: very thick or coarse hair. This is actually so difficult for some stylists that I have had woman travel from as far as two hours away to see me. Cutting thick hair is a very different process which takes more time. Thinning does not work; to create a less bulky shape the hair needs to be “carved.”
The only person I do not wish to see is a woman who wears a wig every day. I have found through experience that no matter how well I do with their own hair (and I have done amazingly well with almost no hair) it can never compare to the huge perfectly coiffed wig they are used to. I always want to be effective in the work I do; this is more important to me than money. Doing your hair in such a way as to make you appear more attractive is a passion for me.
